HOW MANY MORE MUST DIE?
This was OYEDOKUN M O
A TEACHER. A MENTOR. A FATHER.
HE DEDICATED HIS LIFE TO EDUCATING OUR CHILDREN.
HE WAS KILLED BY BANDITS IN OGBOMOSHO.
He did not commit any crime.
He was not contesting for political office.
He did not cross into another man’s country.
He did not trespass on another man’s property.
He was not lazy. He was at work, doing his job as a teacher.
Like many of us, he grew up hearing that “the youth are the leaders of tomorrow.” He accepted life as it came, managed himself with the little he earned, and kept going.
He watched previous killings happen and prayed it would never get close to him. Unfortunately, this time, it did.
So tell me, is there another fatherland somewhere?
Is there another country we truly belong to?
People move on with their businesses, drop condolence messages, and continue life as though the victims were simply the unlucky ones.
Followers are only leading fellow followers.
Show me a leader, and I will show you a man with the courage to stand for his people; a man willing to confront those who destroy lives and property. A leader should value human life above everything else.
LEADERS- you know what the people do not know.
You have access to what the people do not have.
So when will you ROAR, if you are truly leaders?
That video was painful to watch.
And sadly, even the citizens will eventually move on like nothing happened…
